7.12am
Rik: Urgh.
Delia: Feeling rough this morning?
Rik: Delia! Oh. What happened last night?
Delia: Can't you remember?
Rik: The last thing I remember was standing up,
nearly falling and
then having to have you support me. What happened? And what
the hell are you doing in my bed?!
Delia: Oh Rik... so many questions.

Rik: Did we?
Delia: I don't know.
Rik: I hope we didn't.
Delia: And what if we did?
Rik: We didn't.
Delia: But you were saying that you don't know.
Rik: Well not according to my memory.
Delia: Yes and that stopped last night when you
nearly fell. After that, who knows what happened.
Rik: Stop messing around, Delia. What happened last
night?
Delia: Oh Rik. Things aren't that easy.

Rik: I want you to leave this house immediately.
Delia: You're throwing me out?
Rik: Yes. Pack your things and leave.
Delia: But I have nowhere to go.
Rik: I don't care.
Delia: Well if you're throwing me out then maybe you
should pack your things and join me. After all, that's
what'll happen when I tell Lexi about what happened.
Rik: Lexi won't find out anything about last night.
Delia: Unless you don't throw me out.
Rik: I'll make a deal with you. You can stay as long
as you tell me everything that happened.
Delia: Deal. Just let me freshen up first.
Rik: Fine.

Paula Layton is opening her own bakery. The bakery is being
built into her current home.

Paula: I love it, I just love it.

Henry: It's certainly looking great.
Paula: Thanks Henry.
Henry: Have you decided on a design for the walls?
Paula: Not yet. That's all that needs to be done now
though - new wallpaper, new floor and extra things like
napkins, menus etc.
Henry: I can't believe we're doing this?
Paula: "We're"? You say that like we're a team.
Henry: Are we not?
Paula: I don't know.
Henry: I said I was sorry for not having faith in
you.
Paula: But do you trust me? Do you believe I can
actually have my own business?
Henry: Yes, I honesty do.
Paula: Then maybe I'll consider having you as a
business partner.

Rik: Okay, here we go. The big explanation.
Delia: Last night we talked.
Rik: I remember that.
Delia: We shared a glass of wine.
Rik: I remember that.
Delia: You stood up and nearly fell.
Rik: I remember that.
Delia: Then you kissed me.
Rik: I don't remember that.
Delia: You then led me upstairs and we...
Rik: I don't like where this is going.
Delia: ...we got it on.
Rik: Nooooo.
Delia: Yeeeess. Rik, face it. You cheated on Lexi.
Rik: I would never. I have never in all my life
cheated on anyone and I would not start now.

Rik: Hang on a second... how much wine was I
drinking?
Delia: A few glasses and some more.
Rik: That's funny because I only remember having one
glass.
Delia: As you said, you're memory's a bit fuzzy
regarding last night.
Rik: Yes, from the moment I nearly fell onwards but
not before. I can remember us talking and drinking
perfectly. It just confuses me as to how I managed to nearly
fall and how things became so fuzzy afterwards. I wasn't
drunk, not even tipsy.
Delia: You were just tired.
Rik: Was I? Or is that something you just want me to
believe?
Delia: What?!
Rik: I've had my fair share of women in the past and
I grew up in and worked in a pub. I know one glass of wine
does not make a person drunk and tiredness does not affect
the memory.
Delia: I don't know where you're going with this.
Rik: You drugged me. You put something in my drink.
Delia: I did not... how dare you!

Delia: I don't know
what happened to you but I did not drug you.
Rik: You took advantage of me though.
Delia: Perhaps I did.
Rik: And what happened to Phyllis and Seth? Were
they not around here last night to witness what happened?
Delia: Oh, erm, I booked them into a hotel for the
night after the theatre.
Rik: What? Why?
Delia: I thought they needed a break.
Rik: Or you wanted the house to yourself so you could
lure me...
Lexi: Lure you where?

Rik: Ah Lexi. Err, I wasn't expecting you back so
early today.
Lexi: Phyllis and Seth picked me up on their way
home.
Rik: What did the doctors say about your memory loss?
Lexi: It's just temporary they said. It should come
back over time. They said I should try and relive the past -
it'll help me trying to remember what happened in the last 3
or 4 months.
Delia: You've lost your memory?
Lexi: Yes. Who are you?
Delia: Don't you remember me?
Lexi: Is that a trick question?
Delia: Oh, sorry.
Lexi: It's okay. And I think I do remember you.
Deborah is it? I think we maybe met a few years ago.
Delia: It's Delia.
Lexi: Ah Delia. Nice to meet you again.
Delia: You too.

Ben: Good day mother. What are we celebrating?
Jackie: Nothing. The champagne is not for
consumption.
Ben: Then what is the purpose?
Jackie: You shall find out in due course.
Ben: Intriguing.
Jackie: Now, let me ask you about Lou. How's the relationship
going?
Ben: Fine. We're making progress.
Jackie: Hmm. Well, I'm bored of making progress. I want to
force some progress.
Ben: I'm not following.
Jackie: It's time we acted. That's what the champagne is
for. Tonight you will dine with Lou and she will drink this
champagne.
Ben: What about me? Do I not get any champagne?
Jackie: You get the satisfaction of killing Lou.
Ben: How?

Jackie: This is where the champagne comes in - I've
put poison in it. All Lou needs to do is take one drink and
she'll be dead. Gone.
Ben: Won't the police know it was us?
Jackie: Later on today I will place the champagne
bottle on her doorstep. She won't know where it's from or
who it's from but since it's the most expensive champagne
around she'll accept it and will assume it's from you.
Ben: And then she drinks it. How long does it take to
kill her?
Jackie: She'll be gone within the hour.
Ben: Hmm, do I get to say goodbye?
Jackie: No. She musn't know we're involved. And
please let me know you're not having second thoughts?
Ben: I like her. More than any other girl I've ever
known.
Jackie: She's a killer.
Ben: And so am I.
Jackie: And that's why you have to kill Lou. You have
to it it for me. You owe me it.

Ben: Lou killed Robert because he was trying to
blackmail her. It wasn't her fault really - just like I didn't
kill on purpose!
Jackie: She still killed somebody.
Ben: So why not kill me?
Jackie: Because you're family.
Ben: I don't think I want to be part of this family
any more. Why don't you just take your champagne and kill
Lou yourself!
Jackie: Fine, I will. And since you're not family
I'll kill you too.
Ben: Try it then.
Jackie: However we could do this the easy way - you
kill Lou and we go back to our simple, easy, enjoyable New York life. It's your
call.

Delia: Half a sleeping pill.
Rik: What?
Delia: That's what I put in your drink. I didn't drug
you, I just put you half to sleep.
Rik: Is there anything else you want to tell me?
Delia: Like what?
Rik: Did everything else really happened last night?
Delia: We definitely kissed.
Rik: What about after?
Delia: I took you upstairs and put you to sleep.
Rik: Nothing else?
Delia: No.
Rik: Why did you make up that we did something?
Delia: I was perhaps planning on blackmailing you or
something. Then I saw Lexi. I knew you had a girlfriend
called Lexi but I didn't realise that I knew her.
Rik: I thought you only bumped into her a few years
ago?
Delia: We also bumped into each other a few months
ago but she won't remember that because she's lost her
memory.
Rik: What happened?
Delia: I can't tell you but she would. But let me
just say this - I'm telling you the truth now because you
deserve to know and because I'm not going to tell Lexi
anything about us kissing. I've already put her through too
much and damaged her enough.
Rik: What did you do?
Delia: That's for her to tell you. From now on I'm
keeping a low profile and I'm not saying anything.

Ben: Trust me mother, I have it all under control.
Jackie: I do trust you.
Ben: Good. Did you drop the champagne off earlier?
Jackie: Yes, I left it on the doorstep and I made
sure she found it.
Ben: You weren't seen?
Jackie: Not by anyone. I made sure of that.
Ben: Good. Anyway, I'd better go in.
Jackie: You aren't going to back out are you?
Ben: No, why?
Jackie: I just hope you're true feelings don't come
in the way.
Ben: They won't.
Jackie: Promise me.
Ben: I promise.

Jackie: I'll be heading off home - I'll pack our
things and book a flight back to New York.
Ben: Is that wise? Taking off as soon as my
girlfriend dies under suspicious circumstances?
Jackie: No, you're right. We should stay a week or
two. I'll go home and get rid of all the evidence while you
get Lou to drink the champagne.
Ben: I'll see you later mother.
Jackie: Good luck son.

7.01pm
Ben: (Laughs) I just don't know if I can get the time
off work.

Lou: Oh come on. Me and you go on holiday in the
summer for a week or two. I'm sure you can get off work for
a couple of weeks?
Ben: I'll try but don't be surprised if I can't get
the time off.
Lou: Okay, fine.
Ben: Do you fancy opening that bottle of champagne?
Lou: I think we should leave that for later. And by
the way, thanks for it.
Ben: Thank you for what?
Lou: The champagne.
Ben: I didn't give you it.
Lou: That's weird. I found it on my doorstep with a
note on it saying "Enjoy".
Ben: Wasn't me. But it looks like I have competition.
Lou: Ah well. Doesn't mean we can't enjoy the bottle
together.

Lou: By the way, I have something to ask you. It's
been bothering me for a while now.
Ben: What is it?
Lou: When your mother was here the other day she said
something. It unsettled me.
Ben: What did she say to you?
Lou: She didn't say anything to me, it was to you.
You were both talking in the hall and I heard her call you a
killer.
Ben: Oh.
Lou: I don't want you to explain but I just want to
know...
Ben: It was manslaughter. I didn't mean it.
Lou: What?
Ben: I was 17 years old and I was learning to drive.
My father was teaching me in his car. There was one night in
January when we were driving along. It was dark but things
were going okay - I had control over the car. We must have
been going about 40mph when we hit a tight bend when we met
another car heading straight towards us. The other car was
well over the speed limit. I swerved so that we didn't hit
the other car but I ending up driving our car straight into
a lake. I tried to brake but nothing happened. I managed to
escape the car but my father, he didn't. He drowned.
Lou: Oh my God.
Ben: The man driving the other car that almost hit us
was fined and jailed for dangerous driving. He was drunk and
was speeding. My mother on the other hand saw me as the
killer. I was the one driving the car that crashed into the
lake and she has always blamed me for my fathers death.
Lou: Oh Ben. I had no idea.
Ben: My mother constantly uses my past against me.
She emotionally blackmails me whenever she can. Whenever I
refuse to do something she wants she always hits back with
"Then do it for me, you know you owe me for what you did"

Lou: That is so sad.
Ben: I've managed to put up with it for years but I
feel like snapping at her now. It's been nearly 15 years
since the accident and she still won't let me forget it.
Lou: You have to say something to her. You must let
her know how you feel.
Ben: My mother isn't a person who can be reasoned
with.
Lou: If you don't confront her then you'll have to
keep living as you do now.
Ben: I have an idea - why don't you help me confront
my mother.
Lou: If that's what you think is a good idea then
yes.
Ben: It would help me greatly.
Lou: Then we'll do it.

Ben: Thank you.

Lou: And here's the champagne. I think it's a good
idea we opened it now.
Ben: Are you sure?
Lou: Of course. We can toast to the future.
Ben: What are we celebrating?
Lou: Me helping you confront your mother and perhaps
us living together?
Ben: What?

Lou: You currently live with your mother which I'm
sensing you don't like. And since you spend more than half
of your time here then I think it's a good idea.
Ben: I don't know what to say.
Lou: You don't have to move in immediately, you can
move in whenever you like. I understand things could be
awkward right now. It'll be even harder for you to confront
your mother if she knows you're moving out.
Ben: Yes! I'll move in with you.
Lou: Great!
Ben: I'll move in tomorrow.
Lou: Really?
Ben: It will help me prove to my mother just how
crazy I am about you.
Lou: (Raises glass) To the future!

Ben: Cheers.
Lou: Cheers.
(Doorbell rings)
Lou: I'll get that.

Lou: Lisa, it's you.
Lisa: Is it an awkward time to call?
Lou: It is, kind of. Ben and I were kind of in the
middle of celebrating.
Lisa: What's the occasion?
Lou: Ben's moving in with me.
Lisa: Really? Well I hope you enjoy the house, Ben.
It's a great house - I should know after all, I lived here
for just under a year.
Ben: You lived here Lisa?
Lisa: Yes, from about the autumn of 2005 right
through to the summer of 2006.
Ben: I never knew that.
Lou: Well Lisa, I think Ben and I had better get back
indoors.
Ben: It's okay, Lou, you stay and chat. By the way,
did you drink any of that champagne?
Lou: No. Not even a sip.
Ben: Okay, well I'll leave you and Lisa to chat for a
few minutes. I'm away to the toilet.
Lou: Okay. Now Lisa, what was it you wanted?
Lisa: You know the other night when I was around here
at your place, well I'm sure I left my purse here...

Ben: Well then, I
guess we won't be needing this champagne anymore, now that
we know who the real killer of Robert is. I must remember to
give mother a phone in the morning...
