9.23am
Phyllis: So what did you want to talk about then Rik?
Rik: Lexi's coming home from the hospital tonight and
I was planning on having a really romantic night with her
including a proper meal. Since I don't cook much I was
wondering if you would be kind enough to help me.
Phyllis: I suppose I could whip up something. How
does Chicken Balmoral sound? It's chicken stuffed with
haggis. Or how about soup. I have enough ingredients
upstairs to make any kind.
Rik: You can choose - Lexi and I aren't fussy.
Phyllis: When does it need to be made by?
Rik: About 7pm?
Phyllis: Okay, that's fine.
Rik: And since the pub is closed tonight I was going
to serve it in here.
Phyllis: I suppose you won't want to be disturbed
then?
Rik: No.
Phyllis: It's a good job Seth and I have tickets for
the theatre then.

Rik: Since you're
making a meal for Lexi and I, let me pay for the tickets.
Phyllis: Are you sure?
Rik: Yes.
Phyllis: Okay. I can't remember the prices but I'll
find out later. Are you going in to collect Lexi from
hospital?
Rik: Yes, about 1pm. Why?
Phyllis: I was going to go into town to buy some new
clothes. Could I get a lift?
Rik: Yeah, sure. By the way, have the police said
anything about the circumstances under which Lexi fell?
Phyllis: They think she fell.
Rik: Well they still have to interview her - I think
that's happening tomorrow.

Katy: Mum... I've said
sorry a million times already. What more can I do?
Lisa: Katy, two days ago I had to come to hospital to
collect you from the hospital - you had your stomach pumped
because you drank so much alcohol.
Katy: But I didn't even drink as much as the other
girls.
Lisa: You're 15 Katy. I don't even know how old the
other girls you were with are.
Leon: They're 17.
Lisa: There you go.
Katy: They're my friends.
Lisa: They were leading you astray. From now on you
are banned from hanging around with them.

Katy: I wish dad was
at home - he was much more reasonable.
Lisa: Your father is in America and won't be for the
next couple of weeks.
Katy: I know. I can't wait until he gets home.
Leon: By the way mum, what is the news you have to
tell dad?
Lisa: What?
Leon: Dad told me you had something big to tell him.
Lisa: What did your dad tell you?
Leon: Nothing. He just told me to try and find out
what the big news is that you have for him. He' scared
you're splitting up with him or you've gone back to being a
slapper.
Lisa: Leon!
Leon: That's what he said.

Lisa: Well your father
has no reason to worry. My news isn't that big anyway. He
must have overreacted.
Leon: Whatever.
Katy: At least when dad gets home I can start going
back out with my real friends.
Lisa: I'll make sure I tell your dad about your
actions, Katy.
Leon: He'll still let me go out.
Lisa: And I'll also let him know you're taking
advantage of him.
Katy: Since when did you care so much about your
family?
Lisa: You don't think I care? When I saw you lying in
hospital bed you reminded me of myself when I was your age.
I just don't want you growing up to be like me.

11.34am
Lexi: You're here early... I'm not ready to leave.
Rik: It's okay, we have plenty of time. I'm here
early because I brought Phyllis - she's went shopping in
town. I said I'd pick her up on our way back home at about
2pm.
Lexi: Oh, okay.
Rik: Have the police said anything about interviewing
you?
Lexi: They came in this morning and asked a few
questions but they left soon after.
Rik: What did they ask you?
Lexi: They asked my name and then what happened to
me. Then they asked me what the date was.
Rik: Okay, well maybe they'll be back later with more
questions. By the way, do you actually know what happened?
Lexi: No, not really. The last thing I remember was
falling. The doctors did say my memory might be a bit hazy
regarding the incident. I can't even remember where I fell
from - I just remember falling and hitting the ground. Then
I woke up in here the morning after. Things seem different
though. My hair feels longer and I found this ring on my
finger - I don't even know where it came from. And this
hospital is so boring - where are the Christmas decorations?

Rik: Lexi, what is
today's date?
Lexi: I don't know exactly - about 15th December
2006.
Rik: Lexi it's April 2007.
Lexi: What? But it can't be!
Rik: I think that bump on the head did more damage
than the doctors though. I'll go and call on them.

Henry: Paula, can we
chat?
Paula: In a second, Henry. I'm busy writing this
email to a company, I want them to make me a sign for the
bakery.
Henry: Yeah, it's about that.
Paula: Oh Henry, if you're here to moan at me again
for going against you then I really don't need it right now.
Henry: I'm not here to moan. Just to ask how things
are going?
Paula: Well I have a counter and kitchen set up and I
have chairs and tables ordered. I just need to get the room
decorated, order ingredients for food and puts up things
like a shop sign.
Henry: It's going well then?
Paula: Yes. We should be ready to open soon. Why are
you taking an interest all of a sudden?
Henry: Because if I don't then I fear that I might
lose you. You've been so wrapped up in this project of yours
that we hardly talk any more.
Paula: So you think by taking an interest of by
becoming involved that our relationship will suddenly go
back to how it was?

Henry: No. But I hope
it will start to bring us back together.
Paula: What makes you think I want to do that?
Henry: I was just thinking and maybe you were right -
opening up a bakery was a good idea. I'm sorry for doubting
you.
Paula: Thank you.
Henry: And if there's anything I can do to help?
Paula: Well you were always better at me at English
so how about you take over from me at writing this letter
and I'll go and continue the design of the bakery.
Henry: Okay, sure.

Paula: Oh Henry, I'm
so glad things are finally working out.
Henry: Me too, Paula.

Kate: Your garden is
such a mess still.
Lou: I know. I was thinking about re-doing it anyway.
Kate: Really?
Lou: Nah, but with spring on the way at least it
gives me the chance to get stuck into gardening.
Kate: Why do you think they did it?
Lou: Who did what?
Kate: Whoever ruined your garden - why do you think
they did it?
Lou: I don't know who they were. They were probably
just yobs with nothing better to do than wreck other peoples
lives.
Kate: I suppose. I just thought it was a little
weird. Anyway, are you up to much tonight?
Lou: Why? What have you got planned?

Kate: How about a
girly weekend away?
Lou: Another night out? I was away with Ben just
recently and then Delia, you and I went out for a night just
a couple of days ago.
Kate: It's my mum and dads 40th anniversary.
Lou: I thought your dad was dead?
Kate: He is. Today would have been their 40thn
anniversary. My mum's alone and she needs company so I was
going to take her out tonight to see a movie and then go for
a meal. Just something to take her mind off things. Do you
want to join us?
Lou: Okay, sure.

6.47pm
Rik is alone in the pub.

Rik: Wow... look at
you. You look amazing...

Rik: Oh Delia... I
thought you were somebody else.
Delia: Well if you stopped looking at my breasts and
looked at my face maybe you'd realise that.
Rik: Sorry.
Delia: No problem. It's been a while since somebody
checked me out anyway.
Rik: In that dress?
Delia: Well, apart from tonight.
Rik: Where are you supposed to be anyway?
Delia: On a date. I got stood up though. And you?
Rik: Lexi was supposed to be coming home but the
doctors are keeping her in overnight again. They've just
discovered she's lost part of her memory - the last 3 months
- and want to do more tests just to make they haven't missed
anything else. So I'm all alone for another night and I have
a meal for two cooking away.

Delia: So Lexi and you
- been together long?
Rik: A good few years. We were on and off until Lexi
got pregnant and then after that we settled down. We're
getting married in late spring.
Delia: How old is your baby?
Rik: She had her first birthday late last year. Don't
you have two kids yourself?
Delia: Yes. Demi and Jude.
Rik: So what's the story with you? I've heard
rumours.
Delia: And those rumours are?
Rik: That you're Dave's wife and you have his kids.
Delia: That would be correct.
Rik: No way! Really?
Delia: Yes. Now please drop the subject. I've had so
many questions lately about my life with Dave that I'm
bored. Please can we move one? Let me go to the toilet first
though. And when I'm back I'll bring with me a bottle of
wine. Go get the glasses for us.

A few minutes later
Rik: By the way, how did you react when you were told
Dave was dead?
Delia: Honestly? Not surprised. It was about time
somebody killed him.
Rik: Really?
Delia: He was a cheat, a liar and so many other
things. He probably pushed somebody too far and they got
their revenge. What have the police said?
Rik: Their investigation is ongoing but so far they
gave found zero leads. They have no clues whatsoever.
Delia: Blimey. Anyway, what are we toasting to?
Rik: To the safe health of Lexi...
Delia: And to me hopefully finding a new boyfriend
soon!

Rik: Cheers.
Delia: Cheers.

Rik: That wine tasted
kind of weird.
Delia: It's wine... some people love it, some people
hate it.
Rik: No, I usually drink that kind with Lexi but this
time it just tasted weird.
Delia: Hmm, I'm sure it's nothing. Anyway, what were
we talking about?
Rik: Dave's death.
Delia: Oh that. Yeah, I'm not surprised. He kind of
deserved it.
Rik: What?
Delia: Oh don't look at me like that. I didn't kill
him! I'm just saying he had it coming.
Rik: Hmm.
Delia: What's the matter?
Rik: I feel kind of drowsy.
Delia: You've had a long, tough day. You're probably
just tired.

Delia: Now tell me
Rik. How did Lexi manage to find such a decent fella as
yourself? What's her secret?
Rik: I dunno. She just found me somewhere.
Delia: Are you okay?
Rik: Fine... just... tired. (Yawn).
Delia: Well Rik...
Rik: Why are feeling my hand?
Delia: I'm just comforting you.
Rik: Oh.
Delia: Don't worry, nothing's gonna happen. It's
obvious you're devoted to Lexi. Now come on, you're tired,
lets get you to bed.

Delia: Whoa, looks
like you need some help standing up.
Rik: Told you... I'm tired. I just want to go to bed
and get some sleep.
Delia: Come here, grab my side, I'll help you get
there you.

Delia: Mmm...
Rik: Deliaaaaa.
Delia: Shut up. Just follow me.

Rik: Where are we
going?
Delia: They bedroom... you're tired, remember?
