Paula: So she's in
Ireland right now?
Richard: Yeah. I didn't want to drag her all the way
back here when all I'm doing is picking up a few bits and
pieces.
Paula: You're staying in Ireland permanently then?
Richard: Yeah. At least until Vanessa passes away.
Paula: Are you keeping this house here?
Richard: No, a family have bought it - they're moving
in later today. They gave me a really good price for it as
well - they've bought everything including the furniture.
Paula: That must make you a millionaire now then?
Richard: No, we're about £100,000 away from it. By
the way, about the money - Vanessa and I are only keeping
about £100,000 of it. Just enough to make sure we're
financially secure. And listen, I heard about Henry getting
the sack. Why don't I give you the rest.
Paula: What? No. I couldn't do that.
Richard: Really, you can have it. We won it on the
lottery and ever since it's giving us bad luck. Plus, it's
not like we earned it.
Paula: I suppose I could take some of it.
Richard: Is £500,000 enough?
Paula: I was thinking maybe a few thousand.
Richard: It's up to you. Take as much as you want.
It's not every day you get money handed to you on a plate.
Paula: I'll think about it.

Richard: I'll e-mail
you or phone about the money. I know you need it the most on
this street so you can have some of it. The rest will go to
charity.
Paula: Thank you Richard. It means a lot.
Richard: I know it does which is why I'm giving you
it. And thanks for coming to speak to me. I thought
everybody would have forgotten about Vanessa and I. Now I'm
off to pack up a few things like clothes before the new
family get here.

Paula: I hope you enjoy your time in Ireland with
Vanessa.
Richard: I'm sure we will. I'll try and keep in
contact with you.
Paula: Yeah, same here.

4.34pm
Lexi: So Phyllis, has Kerry definitely escaped from the
police again?

Lexi: Phyllis, I asked
you a question - don't walk away from me.

Phyllis: I'm sorry,
dear. I never realised I was answerable to you.
Lexi: No, but it's polite to answer a question when
asked.
Phyllis: I'm not going to lie to you, Lexi. Seth and
I know we're not welcome in the house.
Lexi: What?
Phyllis: Rik made it perfectly clear that he'd rather
this house belonged just to you and him.
Lexi: Perhaps that's true. However it doesn't mean
you have to create a hostile environment. Rik and I still
like both of you.
Phyllis: Okay sweetie, whatever you say.

Lexi: And that's
another thing - the patronising. Can it please stop.
Phyllis: I don't know what you're talking about.
Lexi: Oh I think you do.
Phyllis: I don't. Now lets forget we had this
conversation. It's ruining my otherwise fine day. Now if
you'll excuse me, I have coffee to drink and a newspaper to
read. And while you're stood around here doing nothing, this
floor needs sweeping. If you wouldn't mind, thanks?

Lexi: Okay the
patronising was bad but I'm not your slave. In fact I'm not
even your employee - you don't even work here. This is Rik's
pub, it belongs to him.
Phyllis: But Rik's working.
Lexi: Yeah, so I'm in charge.
Phyllis: Yeah, and I don't even work here which means
you're the only one here who does. So dear, get sweeping.

Lexi: I don't mind
having to sweep, I just don't like being told to.
Phyllis: Well I can't help it if I'm a control freak,
I tend to give orders a lot. You'll just have to learn to
live with it.
Lexi: Until you move out.
Phyllis: Oh dear, Lexi, can't you understand, Seth
and I are here to stay.
Lexi: It's my home, if I want you out then...
Phyllis: Seth and I are not moving out. Do I have to
spell it out to you for you to understand you silly girl?

Lexi: (Slaps
Phyllis) I am not going to stand here and listen to abuse
from you.
Phyllis: Oh Lexi, you really are a silly girl. You
don't go around slapping people like that.
Lexi: Yeah - just like how you're not supposed to go
around insulting people.

Phyllis: I had good
reason to call you a silly girl.
Lexi: And I had a good reason to slap you.
Phyllis: No, dear, you didn't. You might want to
watch your back from now on. You don't slap Phyllis and get
away with it.

4.54pm
Paul and Lisa have arrived in Sim Street.

Lisa: Oh well, we're
finally here.
Paul: Yes, finally. You took your time.
Lisa: Oi, it's not my fault some idiot driver in
front of me obviously can't control their driving.
Paul: (Laughs).
Lisa: It's not funny - when we go back to pick up the
kids you can drive.

Richard: Ah, you're
here. I thought you weren't going to turn up.
Lisa: The traffic was bad. Anyway, hi, you must be
Richard.
Richard: Yeah, I am. I thought you were a family of
four?
Lisa: We are. Our kids, Leon and Katy, are still in
our old home. They'll be here in a few days.
Richard: Oh well. Here are the keys to the house. I
hope you enjoy it. I'll see you guys later. Bye.

Lisa: Oh well Paul.
Here we are.
Paul: It's nice, really nice... but there are
Christmas decorations.
Lisa: I'm sure I heard him say he hasn't lived here
for a few months. Oh well, no harm, we can take them down
tonight.

6.34pm
Ben: You look amazing.
Lou: Thank you. You told me to look good so I tried.
Ben: And you succeeded very well. Now come on, we
have to be there for 7pm.

7.03pm
Lou: This restaurant looks really good. I thought it was
really hard to get a table in here.
Ben: It is. But when you have the cash...
Lou: Wow, you must really like me. (Laughs)
Ben: I do. You're the best thing that's happened to
me in a while.
Lou: I can say the same about you. It's been a while
since I've had a proper boyfriend.
(Phone rings)
Ben: Damn, that's my mobile. I'm sorry. Please excuse
me.

7.12pm
Ben: So, any idea on what you're having?
Lou: Was that an important phone call?
Ben: Erm, I don't know. I'm sorry.
Lou: What? Is something wrong?
Ben: No. I mean yes. I'm not sure.
Lou: Ben?
Ben: I don't know.
Lou: You don't know what?
Ben: I don't know if I can do this.
Lou: What? This restaurant? We can go somewhere else
if you like.
Ben: No, I mean us. I don't know if I can do us.

Lou: What?
Ben: I'm sorry. I really am.
Lou: But you said you liked me!
Ben: I do. But I don't. I don't know.
Lou: You lied to me.
Ben: I'm sorry.
Lou: You said you liked me and you lied. I thought we
were going somewhere.
Ben: Listen, Lou.

Lou: Just stop being
so damn confusing Ben.

Ben: Argh! I'm soaked.
Lou: Now please leave Ben. I want to be on my own.

Lou: (Cries)

8.34pm
Jackie: I'm so glad I found you Ben. Did you do it?
Ben: If you mean breaking up with Lou, then yes.
Jackie: Thank you.
Ben: But this had better be worth it. I really liked
Lou. I didn't break up with her for nothing.

Jackie: Oh you'll be glad you broke up with her when
I tell you what I know. Now follow me.

Ben: What are we doing in Lou's home? She could be
home any minute.
Jackie: That would be good. Therefore we'd be able to
kill her together.
Ben: What? What on earth are you talking about? You
want to kill her now?
Jackie: Listen Ben, what I'm about to tell you isn't
nice.
Ben: Go on.
Jackie: You remember your brother?
Ben: Yes, Rob.
Jackie: He's dead.
Ben: How do you know?

Jackie: I don't know - it's just a well educated
guess. I did my research before moving here and I found out
your brother was having an affair with some woman. I looked
through all of his personal things and he had letters from a
woman at this address - and the woman who lives here is Lou.
Ben: You can't be sure she killed him though.
Jackie: They were having an affair. Lou had a long
term partner, as she described in the letters.
Ben: Are you sure?
Jackie: Of course I'm sure. Her name isn't mentioned
in the letters, she refers to herself as just 'L' though.
I'm assuming that stands for Lou.
Ben: I suppose so.
Jackie: In the letters, Rob was threatening Lou. He
wanted to take her away from her partner. He said if she
hadn't made up her mind by the end of the year 2005 then
he'd tell her partner. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but that
was when your brother went missing.

Ben: Okay, that does sound fishy. So she's connected
to the disappearance of Rob. But I'm not killing her.
Jackie: Oh, and by the way, Rob was using your
father's last name 'Wilson'. And that's one reason why I'm
not going to the police. If the police even come near us
they'll dig up our past and you know as well as I do that
you'd go to jail for what you've done. We have to deal with
all of this ourselves.

Ben: So what do we do
next?
Jackie: We find some concrete evidence. We don't even
know where she hid his body.
Ben: We don't even know that Rob's dead.
Jackie: Oh come on. It's been over a year since he
was last seen. He's dead. Now help me search this house. We
could find anything here from more letters to a murder
weapon.
Ben: And when we do find some evidence like that?
Jackie: Then Lou will be joining your brother 6 feet
under. Now come on, lets get searching.
