Series 4 Episode 13 - I Don't Love You Anymore

7.58am
Lexi: ARGH!
SimStreet

Lou: Lexi, what is it?
Lexi: (Laughs) I'm getting married today!

Ben: What's the time?
Lou: Nearly 8am.
Ben: Okay. Isn't this place just excellent? It has everything you need for a wedding.
Lou: Yeah, it's great.
Ben: Well I'm just going to check on Rik and see how things are going.
Lou: I'm just going to shower and get breakfast ready. I think Kate's up already - I heard somebody pacing around earlier.
(phone rings)
Lou: Hello?
Jackie: Hello Louise, please may I speak with Benjamin.
Lou: Ben, your mother's on the phone.
Ben: Urgh, what does she want?

Ben: Hello.
Jackie: I hope you've had a chance to sleep on your thoughts.
Ben: Mother, I told you - I'm not following your orders any longer.
Jackie: It's one small favour - kill Lisa. That's all I ask.
Ben: If it's just a small favour then I'm sure you'll have no problem doing it yourself.
(Hangs up)
Lou: Is that your mother trying to order you about again?
Ben: Yes.
Lou: She really is putting so much pressure on you, isn't she?
Ben: Not anymore she isn't.
Lou: She is - I can see it. You're clearly bothered by her.
Ben: (Sighs) I just wish she'd leave me alone.
Lou: Maybe we should talk to her, together.
Ben: No offence but she won't listen to you. She doesn't even listen to me and I'm her bloody son.

Lisa: Good morning. Isn't it just a b-e-a-utiful day outside?
Paul: Morning. Somebody's in a very good mood today.
Lisa: Well love is in the air - and I found us a new home.
Paul: What?
Lisa: I was searching online last night. There was this beautiful home located half way across the country. It was perfect - 4 bedrooms, 2 storeys, a huge back garden and it's well within our price range.
Paul: Hang on, I thought we were going to do this slowly.
Lisa: I know, but the house I saw won't be available forever.
Paul: Is it really that great?
Lisa: Yes! Why don't we buy it and then move in later?
Paul: Hmm, I suppose. We could put our home in Sim Street on the market and then move once we sell it.
Lisa: It's a plan!
Paul: Well, a basic plan. We can discuss it more in depth later.

9.32am
Steve: I can't believe you're getting married. I never thought I'd see the day when Rik Hill settled down.
Rik: My wild days are way behind me. I got back together with Lexi two years ago - that was after you left town.
Steve: Hey Ben, you do realise that after Rik and Lexi get married that Lou and you will be the only non-married couple left in Sim Street.
Rik: Yeah Ben, is marriage on the cards?
Ben: Hmm, maybe. We've only been together for half a year or so but I do see a long term future with her.
Steve: Yeah?
Ben: But technically there are two non-married couples on Sim Street now that Henry and Paula will be getting divorced.
Steve: Yeah, and they're moving away so that just leaves Lou and yourself.
Rik: Stop pressurising him. I'm sure he'll get married one day.
Ben: Yeah, now for the rest of the day can we please concentrate on Rik's marriage?
Steve: Sorry. How do you think Lexi's getting on?
Rik: Oh she'll probably be trying to perfect everything and worrying that something might go wrong.

Lexi: What if it rains?
Kate: It won't - the forecast says it'll be sunny all day.
Lexi: But what if the vicar's ill.
Lou: He isn't - I just spoke with him.
Lexi: But what if our car breaks down.
Kate: There are billions of cars in the... but we don't even need a car!
Lexi: But what if...?
Phyllis: Pull yourself together woman!
Kate: Oh leave her alone, Phyllis. She's getting married, she's allowed to be nervous.
Lexi: What about my dress?
Lou: What about it?
Lexi: I'm not wearing it!
Lou: There are over three hours until we need to be ready - we'll get in done in time.
(Knock at door)

Phyllis: Seth, what brings you from next door? Is everything all right?
Seth: Yes, I just wanted to speak with you.
Phyllis: What is it?
Seth: I know you've spent some time over the past few months being a little mischievous and trying to mess around with Rik and Lexi.
Phyllis: Yes.
Seth: But I haven't tried to stop you.
Phyllis: There would have been no point.
Seth: But I have to ask that today you leave Rik and Lexi well alone - no messing around. This is a momentous day for them, it's not something you can mess up.
Phyllis: I won't do anything silly - I wasn't planning on anyway.
Seth: Promise?
Phyllis: I promise.
Seth: Good.

11.53am
Lisa: Did you have a look at the house online then?
Paul: I did.
Lisa: What do you think?
Paul: It's a nice house.
Lisa: But...?
Paul: Huh?
Lisa: I'm sensing you're going to say something negative about it.
Paul: No, it's a nice house. No negatives.
Lisa: Okay, then what's your opinion on buying it?
Paul: I'm not sure. It just seems like such a hassle - packing up and moving again. And just when the kids are going to college.

Lisa: But we can't live here when people think I killed somebody.
Paul: Nobody's said anything.
Lisa: Yet! It's only a matter of time.
Paul: People won't talk unless they have reason to.
Lisa: Yes, and I've heard what Jackie's like. I can't imagine her being the forgiving type.
Paul: Well we could always talk to her.
Lisa: Oh sure. Lets just walk up to her and say "Hi Jackie. I'm Lisa. I killed your son, Have a nice day!"
Paul: Obviously not like that.
Lisa: I just think we have two options here - confront the problem head on or runaway - and running away seems like the best option.
Paul: Well it's not a decision we need to make now. We should just think about it over the next couple of weeks and then come to a decision.

12.28pm
Lexi: Ah, you're here!
Phyllis: We were just across the hall.
Lexi: I know, I just worry.
Phyllis: Lexi, can I talk to you in private please?
Lexi: Yeah, sure.

Phyllis: There's something you should know.
Lexi: About what?
Phyllis: Rik.
Lexi: is he okay? Oh my...
Phyllis: He's fine, for now.
Lexi: Then what is it Phyllis. You're panicking me.
Phyllis: We've had our differences dear.
Lexi: You could say that.
Phyllis: But the last thing I want to see is you do the wrong thing and ruin your life.
Lexi: What wrong thing?
Phyllis: Marrying Rik.

Lexi: Why is that so wrong? Is this another one of your little stunts.
Phyllis: No.
Lexi: What is it now? We've already had Lexi pushed off a roof...
Phyllis: That wasn't me.
Lexi: ...and make Rik fall asleep in a park...
Phyllis: Okay... that was me.
Lexi: And now we have the ruin Rik and Lexi's wedding stunt! Well guess what, nothing you can say or do will stop me from ever loving, caring or marrying Rik!
Phyllis: Rik cheated on you.
(Silence)
Phyllis: I thought that'd take the wind from your sails.

Lexi: He... he didn't. He wouldn't!
Phyllis: Oh he did.
Lexi: I don't believe you.
Phyllis: Remember Delia. Single mother, two kids.
Lexi: Yeah I remember her.
Phyllis: A few months ago, before her death, she slept with Rik.
Lexi: Up yours Phyllis. That's not true.
Phyllis: You remember nearly a year ago I was working undercover for the police, tracking Kerry's every move, every word.
Lexi: Yes.
Phyllis: There were CCTV cameras installed all over the pub.
Lexi: So?
Phyllis: I just thought you might find this a little interesting.

Phyllis: I just wish I had a camera to capture your facial expression.
Lexi: Get out.
Phyllis: I'm only telling you what you need to hear.
Lexi: I don't need anything from you.
Phyllis: It's not...
Lexi: GET OUT!

12.37pm
Jack: Sorry I'm late. There was a bit of trouble over at the girls, Lexi got a bit emotional.
Rik: What was wrong?
Jack: She said she was so happy, you know what women are like.
Steve: It's great too see you back, Jack.
Jack: I know. And I see so many new faces. Introduce me.
Rik: Well on the far right is Paul, you might remember him, sitting between us is Steve who you already know and to my left are Ben and Seth. Ben moved here from New York earlier this year and Seth is Kerry's father.
Jack: Ah right. Nice to meet you all.
Steve: So are we all ready to go now?
Rik: Yes, I think so.

1.01pm

Lou: Are you ready?
Lexi: I think so.
Kate: You look so beautiful.
Lexi: Thanks. Now get out there and start the wedding before I cry again and ruin my make up! (Laughs)
Lou: Wait!
Lexi: What is it? Is there something wrong? Is my hair okay?
Lou: Everything's fine. I just wanted to savour the moment. Everybody's so happy.
Kate: And everybody will still be happy after the wedding. C'mon, we've got a wedding to start.
Lou: I just love how everybody is on cloud nine.
Lexi: So do I.
Kate: Well that group of people out there won't be happy much longer if we keep them waiting.
Lou: But I just... I don't know... I want...
Kate: Are you alright, Lou?
Lou: I just hope that today people are happy for the right reasons.
Kate: Lou?
Lou: And now the wedding begins. C'mon Kate, stop standing around. People will start moaning if you hold the wedding up much longer.

Kate: What is up with her today?
Lexi: I think she's already had a few glasses of champagne.
Kate: (Laughs) Just a few?

Steve: Nervous?
Rik: Definitely. But in a good way.

Rik: (Whispers) Lou, where's Lexi?
Lou: She's here.
Rik: Well she sure is taking her time.

Steve: Oh, here she comes.

Rik: Wow. You look beautiful.
Lexi: Thanks.

Vicar: Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to join Rik Hill and Lexi Carmen in holy matrimony.

Vicar: Do you Rik Hill take Lexi Carmen to be your wife. Will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon her your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her as long as you both shall live?
Rik: I do.

Vicar: And do you Lexi Carmen take Rik Hill to be your husband.
Lexi: I don't.
Vicar: (Whispers) It's supposed to be "I do". (Laughs)
Lexi: I know, and I meant what I said.

Rik: Lexi, what's wrong?
Lexi: What's wrong? What's wrong is that you've humiliated me!
Rik: I haven't. What's brought this up, Lexi?
Lexi: You know how I hate Phyllis, everybody knows it.
Rik: Yes.
Lexi: So when she comes up to me and tells me that my fiancé had an affair just months before my wedding, how humiliated do you think I felt?
Rik: I've never had an affair, Lexi. Believe me, Phyllis is making this all up.
Lexi: Since when has having a meal and a kiss with another woman constituted as nothing?
(Silence)
Rik: But...
Lexi: You can't deny it - there's CCTV footage showing it all.
(Silence)
Lexi: You can see how humiliated I was to have the woman I hate rip my life apart in a matter of seconds. Even if nothing did happen, you hid it from me. That's a little suspicious don't you think?
Rik: Lexi...
Lexi: I can't trust you, Rik.
Rik: Please...
Lexi: And this is payback, Rik. This is how humiliation feels. This is how I felt finding out you were having it off with other woman behind my back.
Rik: No, I wasn't.
Lexi: Goodbye.

Lou: What do we do?
Kate: I suppose we should take everybody inside. There's nothing left here to do.

Woman: Hi, I'm calling for a taxi... I'm in Pleasantview town centre. You can pick me up from there.

Lou: So what's happening?
Ben: Rik doesn't know where Lexi's went. She didn't hang around, leave a note or take a mobile phone with her. And she isn't at the pub because nobody is answering the phone.
Lou: Oh.
Steve: Rik's almost in a state of shock. I feel sorry for him.
Kate: It depends if he really did have an affair.
Steve: I believe him. I've known him all my life and I know when he's lying and he isn't now.
Lou: So what are we supposed to do?
Steve: He said just to eat the food and go home. Everything else planned has been cancelled.

Jack: Son, what went wrong?
Rik: I don't know. I swear I have never cheated on Lexi.
Jack: I thought your old days were behind you.
Rik: They are - I have never cheated on Lexi!
Jack: Well son, I don't know what to say.
Rik: Say nothing and go, I just want to be alone right now.

Lisa: Looks like most of the people from the wedding have left.
Paul: Can you blame them? How awkward is it?
Lisa: True. It looks like just those closest to Rik and Lexi have stayed.
Paul: Apart from us and Paula.
Lisa: Should we leave?
Paul: I don't know. Lets just eat and then leave.

Paula: Hi, Henry, it's me. You're obviously busy so I'm just leaving you this message on your phone. Look, today made me realise a few things. I know our marriage has hit the rocks but I've thought about things and I think we should maybe give it another go, even if it means marriage counselling. Call me back. I love you.

Woman: Henry, this Paula wife of yours is one silly lady giving you up!

Lexi: Taxi! Taxi!

Lexi: God dammit woman, hurry up and get out of the taxi, I have places to go.

Driver: Where will it?
Lexi: As far away from here as possible.

Kerry: Ah Riverside. Home sweet home.
