Riverside, present day, 2am

3am
Paul: So how exactly did you guess that Jackie killed Rob?
Lisa: You said the murderer was living in the street – I
ruled out Phyllis and Seth because they weren’t here in 2005 and I
thought the same for Lou, Henry and Paula. That left Rik, Ben and
Jackie. There’s no connection between Rob and Rik and that left
Ben and Jackie. I knew Ben and Rob were close through Rob so that
left Jackie.
Paul: So it was just a guess then?
Lisa: More or less, but it was an accurate one.
Paul: Yeah.
Lisa: So what did she do? Jackie? Did she stab him or
something else? I saw no bruises or blood on him when I buried him
later that night.
Paul: She used one hand to cover his mouth and the other to
cover his nose. She suffocated him. There was no struggle from him
– his broken back meant he couldn’t move much without being in
pain.
Lisa: What an evil bitch.

Paul: But you said that
Kate, Lou and Ben think you killed Rob?
Lisa: Yes.
Paul: And Jackie will want everyone to think that too.
Lisa: I suppose so.
Paul: You realise that when this comes out?
Lisa: When? It might not at all.
Paul: Something like this doesn’t stay unknown for a long
time, Lisa. When everybody finds out all of the evidence will
point to you.
Lisa: What do we do? Should we start packing?
Paul: And leave Riverside again? In the middle of the
night?
Lisa: We can’t go – it looks too weird and everyone will
suspect something.
Paul: We could just wait and see what happens. Or instead
of rushing out of Riverside we could slowly love away, like we’re
planning it.
Lisa: Lets just sleep on it. It’s 3am and I’m shattered.

4am
Rik: What the...?
Lexi: Good sleep, Rik?
Rik: What happened?
Lexi: I don’t know – you tell me.
Rik: Where am I?
Lexi: Again, you tell me.
Rik: Did I drink too much?
Lexi: You feel asleep in the park, Rik!
Rik: That’s the last thing I remember, just sitting down
here last night.
Lexi: You mean you’ve been here since about 8pm last night?
Rik: Yes.
Lexi: And I’m supposed to believe that?
Rik: Yes – it’s the truth. The last thing I remember was
walking through this park after our meal.
Lexi: I’m sorry, I don’t believe you.
Rik: But it’s the truth.
Lexi: One week before our wedding and you pull this stunt,
Rik. It’s not exactly a good move!
Rik: I’m sorry – I honestly…
Lexi: Don’t annoy me anymore than you already have tonight.
Just come home with me and we’ll discuss this in the morning.

7am
Lou: How long has she been there?
Ben: All night I think. I heard her get in at 1am but she
didn’t come up the stairs.
Lou: She must have had a lot to drink last night. I’m
surprised she hasn’t been sick.
Ben: She has – the floor was covered in it when I got up at
6am and so was the toilet.
Lou: Should we wake her?
Ben: Just leave her to sleep the alcohol off. Anyway, what
are your plans for today?
Lou: Well Kate and I are supposed to be over at Lexi’s
today to go over the wedding plans.
Ben: What time?
Lou: It’s supposed to be at 9am but looking at the state of
Kate I think it might be later.
Ben: I don’t see why Lexi should suffer because of Kate. If
Lexi has plans for today then lets not let Kate muck her about.
Lou: What do we do then?
Ben: Throw Kate into a cold shower first.
Lou: That's a bit harsh, maybe we should let Kate sleep the
alcohol off. I'm sure Lexi won't mind rescheduling.
Ben: The last thing you want to do is annoy a bride before
her wedding – and also Kate woke me up in the middle of the night
and I didn’t get back to sleep, hence me being up at 6am this
morning. She'll deserve an early morning wake up and cold shower.

8.30am
Lexi: (Sighs) There’s no way to prove that you were asleep
on the park bench all night.
Rik: And there’s no way to prove that I wasn’t.
Lexi: You say you weren’t feeling right last night – what
was the matter?
Rik: I was feeling tired, really tired.
Lexi: Do you think it was something you ate?
Rik: You ate exactly the same as me last night and you were
fine.
Lexi: Or maybe it was something…
Rover: Woof!
Lexi: …you drank.
Rik: Again, just the same as you.
Lexi: Well, I’m not going to go on about this, especially a
week before the wedding. I’ll just take your word for it and be
glad you’re safe. Just don’t do anything like that again
Rover: Woof!
Rik: What’s wrong with Rover?
Lexi: I think he’s hungry – he hasn’t been fed since last
night. I’ll have to go to the supermarket to get some food for
him.

Lexi: Phyllis, I can't help you clean the bar before
opening, I have Kate and Lexi coming over at 9am and I’m just
popping out for some dog food before they come.
Phyllis: Oh, are you feeling hungry, Lexi?
Lexi: I could easily reply to that but I'm not going to
lower myself, Phyllis.
Phyllis: Is that because you can't go any lower or...
Lexi: I don't care, Phyllis. Just get on with your job and
I'll see you later.

Paula: Good morning.
Henry: Oh, you’re feeling better today are you?

Paula: No, I’m leaving. And I just didn’t want to leave on
a bad note. My bags are packed, my taxi will be here in the
afternoon, after I’ve called this morning.
Henry: Where are you going to live?
Paula: I’m renting a flat out for a few weeks before I find
myself a proper house to buy.
Henry: But what about money?
Paula: I still have over £400,000 of the lottery money that
Richard gave me back in March. I’ll use that.
Henry: Oh.
Paula: The kids will stay here until then. After I’ve
settled into a proper house they can have the option of living
with you or me.
Henry: And what about Amelia?
Paula: It’s just a one bedroomed flat I’m renting. Amelia
can stay here until I’ve moved into a home.
Henry: And what if I don’t want Amelia to go with you.
Paula: Then prepare for a custody battle over her.

Ben: Oh mother, are you home?
Jackie: Through here – I’m in the living room.

Jackie: Benjamin, what brings you here?
Ben: Can’t a son visit his own mum for no reason?
Jackie: You haven’t visited me since I’ve came out of
hospital, not even to see how I am. Something must bring you here.
Ben: Oh well, you know, I was just wondering what your
plans were?
Jackie: Plans regarding what?
Ben: Lisa.
Jackie: What about her?
Ben: Do you still intend on having her killed?
Jackie: Yes, of course. She must pay for her actions.
Ben: And I assume you want me to do the killing?
Jackie: Again, yes. You still have work to do for me.
Ben: Well think again. I’m fed up of being your bitch.
Jackie: Has Lou put you up to this?
Ben: No. I’ve just finally came to my senses. I am no
longer running around after you.
Jackie: Well, I’m sure the police will be…
Ben: What have I done that will be of interest to them?
They have no reason to arrest me. And I know how much you hate
official authorities, mother. The last thing you’ll want are
police officers around here.
Jackie: Then I guess this leaves me with no choice.
Ben: What? You’ll kill Lisa yourself.
Jackie: When I’m back on my feet in a few days, yes.
Ben: You have trouble even managing to kill a spider when
you find one, I somehow doubt killing a human will be something
you’re capable of.
Jackie: You don’t know what I’m capable of, Benjamin.
Ben: Then surprise me mother.

Reporter: It’s been twenty days now since the high profile
model Joanna Richards went missing. Richards was last seen here at
Grove Hill Fashion School where she did several presentations
alongside fellow model Rachel Stone. It was just after leaving
Grove Hill Fashion School that Joanna went missing. Rachel joins
me now. Rachel, what…

Lexi: I don’t how I’d have coped if Rik had went missing
for twenty days. He wasn’t even gone one night and I was just
barely holding myself together.
Kate: Do you know what happened yet?
Lexi: He says he was in the park all night, I think
differently.
Kate: Maybe he’s right. He says he was feeling tired and
collapses – maybe he had his drink spiked or something.
Lexi: Does that happen to men?
Kate: Men can have their drinks spiked too, and be sexually
assaulted. It's not that uncommon. He didn’t say anything about
being attacked did he?
Lexi: No, last thing he remembers was sitting down on the
park bench – and then I woke him up.
Kate: It was raining last night as well.
Lexi: Yeah, it was on and off all night.
Kate: I’m surprised he slept through that. I do think he
was drugged in some way, he’s showing the classic signs – sleeping
heavily, can’t remember a thing. Just to be on the safe side you
should maybe encourage him to go to the hospital to get himself
checked out.
Lexi: I will. I’ll talk to him later.
Kate: No, do it now. Go and take him to the hospital. Lou
and I can try on the bridesmaid outfits while you’re away and
we’ll show you when you get back.
Lexi: Okay, see you later.

Leon: Are we still having a party here before we go back to
college?
Katy: I think so. We said we would and everybody expects us
too.
Leon: Oh, well we'll have to have it soon then.
Katy: I've invited Amelia around today and Sam as well.
I'll ask them if they want to help.
Leon: Do you think mum and dad will mind?
Katy: I'll send them away for the weekend so they'll never
know.
(Doorbell rings)
Katy: That'll be them now.
Leon: You can answer it - I have to get ready for work
later.

Katy: Leon and I were
just talking and we haven’t held our annual summer party yet and
since we’re back at college in a couple of weeks we have to hold
it soon.
Sam: Summer party?
Katy: We have one every year in Riverside. Everyone goes
round to somebody’s house and basically has this massive party.
It’s ace.
Sam: What makes it so different to other parties?
Katy: Because it’s a huge party and everybody goes. Leon
and I were thinking on holding it this year. We're planning on
sending our mum an dad on a weekend break in a couple of weeks and
we were going to hold it then.
Amelia: Cool, do you want us to help?
Sam: Yeah, we could all do it together; we should make it
the best party Riverside has ever seen.
Katy: Great, the party doesn’t have to be too extravagant.
Just try and get as much drink - and some drugs if you can - as
you can get and give it to us. We’ll store it until the party. I
can get the music covered and Leon can deal with the other things.
Katy: Oh, and don’t forget – parents mustn't find out.

Kate: We look fantastic.
Lou: Lexi, you have fantastic taste.

Lexi: Thank you.
Kate: And you look stunning.
Lou: You’re going to make Rik one very happy man.
Kate: Yeah, I wish I was marrying you! (Laughs)
Lou: Oh, by the way, what did the doctor say?
Lexi: He wasn’t drugged, or assaulted – but the doctor
found traces of sleeping pills in his system.
Kate: Sleeping pills? Oh, maybe he just picked up a wrong
glass by mistake or something.
Lexi: Yeah, probably. I know Phyllis has been taking
sleeping pills for a few months now – Phyllis!
Lou: What?
Lexi: The conniving cow that she is!

Henry: Has it really came down to this? We used to have
such a great relationship.
Paula: Things change, Henry.
Henry: But…
Paula: It’s all in the past.
Henry: Not even marriage counselling?
Paula: I just want to move on with my life, Henry. You
should too.
Henry: When can I expect the divorce papers?
Paula: Soon. Now where’s Amelia, I should say goodbye.
Henry: She isn’t here, she’s out.
Paula: Oh, didn’t she know I was leaving?
Henry: Maybe she does but she just doesn’t care?
Paula: (Tuts) Don’t be so silly. Where is she?
Henry: At Lisa’s, with Katy and Leon.
Paula: Good, I’ll pop over and say goodbye. I’ll be home to
pick her up in a couple of weeks when I move into my new home.

Henry: Can't we have one
last kiss - a goodbye one.
Paula: Well, okay... for old times sake.
(Henry and Paula kiss)
Henry: Goodbye, Paula.
Paula: Goodbye, Henry.

Lexi: Don’t you find that life can be full of coincidences?
Phyllis: I don’t know what you mean, Lexi.

Lexi: Oh you know, like
when you go out on a date and then you somehow forget to take your
purse and then your boyfriend goes missing because he feel asleep
– after somebody gave him sleeping pills!
Phyllis: I don’t know what you’re getting at.
Lexi: Oh I think you do.
Phyllis: I don’t.
Lexi: I’m not going to argue, I’ll just warn you that if
you ever try a trick like that again you’ll be sorry, really
sorry.

Kate: Lexi, are you ready to go?
Lou: We have a night of wild fun lined up for you!
Lexi: Oh, sorry, I forgot.
Lou: You forgot about your hen night?
Kate: Hurry up and get changed. We’re partying in style
tonight!
Lexi: Where are we going?
Kate: That’s a surprise, you’ll have to come with us to
find out.
Lexi: But Rik – he doesn’t have a stag night planned
either.
Lou: No, but Ben does. Ben’s taking Rik out for a night of
fun too.
Lexi: Oh, well give me 10 minutes to change and get ready.
Lou: Hurry, then!

Ben: Is it just you and me then?
Rik: Why? What’s so bad about that?
Ben: Nothing, just wondering.
Rik: Actually I phoned a few mates, well, more than a few
actually. They’re all at the nearest nightclub. We’re doing the
full Riverside pub crawl tonight and you’re having your last, and
best, proper lads night out.
(Phone rings)
Ben: And that’ll be starting just after I answer this phone
call. Hello?

Jackie: Benjamin – not busy are you?
Ben: Mother.
Jackie: Have you reconsidered yet?
Ben: No, mother. I’m no longer with you anymore.
Jackie: Then may you suffer the consequences.
Ben: Well if it means you don’t talk to me anymore then
I’ll gladly ‘suffer’ them.
Jackie: I don’t think you know what I’m capable of.
Ben: Oh mother, we’ve been through this before.
Jackie: But still you won’t listen to me.
Ben: Why should I? I’m better off without you. Lou and I
are happy, everybody else is happy. In fact, I’ve been happy ever
since you were shot and put into hospital. Ever since then you’ve
been more or less out of my life and I’ve never been happier!
Jackie: But now I’m more or less back on my feet, is that
happiness going to continue?
Ben: It will if I get my way. I’m fed up of having you as
my boss, it’s bad enough having you as a mum. Have fun on your own
from now on.
(Ben hangs up)
Jackie: Oh Ben, I don’t think you realise that I’ve been
having fun on my own for a long, long time.
