2 - Murder at Midnight |

Yes,
life has carried on in Sim Street since that night back in
May. Friendships have developed, new residents have arrived,
and the streets favourite pub, the Riverside Arms, has been
refurbished. Life on Sim Street, would appear to be carrying
on as normal.
10.03am
Lauren: Oh you know what Kerry sweetie, I really
can't keep this to myself anymore. I have something to tell
you. Something you have to promise me, you won't tell
another soul.
Kerry: I promise Lauren, you know I don't betray you.
What is it?
Lauren: Not now, Rik and dad are through in the club,
I'll tell you later.. |

Rik:
Listen dad, you are the greatest!
Jack: Erm, thanks, there's not much I could do with
the money at my old age.
Rik: But still, you've just
made my dreams come true. My own nightclub! Right here in
Riverside, woohoo!
Jack: Well, we'll see how long you last.
Rik: And that means...?
Jack: Work it out for yourself, we'll see if you'll
last the distance... |

Kerry: Sounds like
Jack and Rik have left the room.
Lauren:
So, here goes...
Kerry: Oooh, goody goody. Some juicy gossip!
Lauren: Remember that night in May, when the Smiths
had that house fire and they bailed me out?
Kerry: Oh yeah, you said not to mention anything
though.
Lauren: I blackmailed them.
Kerry: You did what?!
Lauren: With their secret
Kerry: Which was?
Lauren: Ken and Karen were on the run, well Ken was
anyway. He'd killed a man.
Kerry: Bull! That's their secret?!
Lauren: Yeah, in the small room I hid in, remember I
told you about that? Well there were a few things such as
one or two knives, blood stained free of course. And a few
other things.
Kerry: No no. I ain't believing this
Lauren: Believe what you want. But this is what I
blackmailed them with. That's why they're on the run. That's
why they keep changing names. |

Stepping
out of a world full of secrets my friends were living in,
there of course, was normal life elsewhere.
Lexi: Rik, you are such a great guy!
Rik: It's no problem, the party can join in with the
opening one
Lexi: Babes, you are ace, I love you, as a mate of
course, for doing that. It's brilliant!
Rik: Seriously, it's fine, now get back to your
boyfriend (Laughs) |

Steve:
So that's the party booked then?
Lexi: Two weeks Saturday. Riks agreed to merge it
with the opening one!
Steve: Sounds good, is he okay with it?
Lexi: Sounded fine, he knows we'll attract more
people I suppose.
Steve: And in what what do you mean that eh? (laughs)
Lexi: It's obviously our goods looks then (giggles) |

Jess:
Now, now James, you know we say grace before our meals in
this house.
James: Grace? Pfft! I'd rather just eat the food
right now.
Becki: I know, who wants to say grace?!
Jess: Well I do as a matter of a fact and we all will
in the house while you live under my rules.
Becki: I wish mum was still here.
Jess: I'm sure she'll be looking down on you
from heaven, wishing you to say grace along with us.
Becki: She didn't believe in any of that... |

Jess:
That's it. We'll all sit here, waiting, until everyone has
said grace, do I make myself clear.
Becki: Crystal!
James: Yeah, whatever, but just hurry up.
Jess: Good. Let us begin. I'd like to thank the Lord... |

Lauren:
Hiya Angel. It's me, Lauren.
Just phoning to let you know that the leaving party is still
on for tonight, we'll all be here.
Angel: Okay, thanks honey. I'll be over a bit later than
planned, still got some stuff to pack for going away to
University.
Lauren: Yep, okay, no probs, see you then. |

Angel:
Hey guys!
Kerry: Angel! Hiya, welcome to your party (laughs)
Angel: Nice decorations guys! And I'm liking the
music, very my style. You guys know me too well!
Lauren: Stop blabbing and come and get something to
drink |

|

Angel:
Look, all you have to do is shake your hips.
Like this
Rik: Like this?
Angel: Well if you want to do an old dad at a wedding
style dance then...
Rik: Shut it! (laughs) Like this then?
Angel: That's more like it! (laughs)
Rik: I'm gonna miss you when
you move out you know that? |

Lauren: So how you
two guys getting on now then?
Kerry: Brilliant! I don't know why we ever split up
in the first place to be honest
Dave: Yep, we're better than ever, don't know why I
ever left.
Lauren: Your lucky Dave, not much women would take a
man back after what you did!
Kerry: Yeah I know, but he's forgiven, especially
after...
Dave: Leave it...
Lauren: Ooooh, secrets.
Dave: (laughs) Secrets to be kept secret!

Inside the
pub, everyone of my friends is having a good time. On the
outside though, there are those that peer in, wanting to be
there, wanting to be accepted again, wanting revenge.
Jack: Angel, come here for a second.
Angel: In a minute dad, just going to through out this
rubbish. |

|
|
|
Angel:
Ewww, disgusting sticky stuff on bin!
Unknown person:
(Grunts) Angel....
Angel:
What's that?! |

Kerry: You havin' a good
time babes?
Lauren: Yeah, good party
if I don't say so myself!
Kerry: It's brill honey.
Really good get together.
Lauren: Yeah, haven't
seen that new couple around, you
know, Lynda's sister?
Kerry: Oh her! I don't
really think this is her scene
to be honest. |

And they were right, my
sister didn't have much time for parties of any sort, unless
they involved the bible and were alcohol free. Pleasure
filled activities weren't really her scene, although not all
parties are pleasure filled.... |
